NGS is a husband and wife team providing geotechnical services to the Northland region. As geotechnical specialists we work with your team to deliver trusted results. As Northland locals we know the region and the complex geology we live in.
We offer a full range of geotechnical services from single house sites to large commercial, industrial and land development projects. We can provide a fixed price quote for most projects and will provide you a realistic timeframe.

OUR TEAM
David Buxton
BE Civil (Hons), CPEng, CMEngNZ
David is a chartered geotechnical engineer with 12 years’ experience working with both one of New Zealand’s leading geotechnical companies and a local Northland consultancy. David has led the geotechnical engineering on projects ranging from house sites to commercial developments over the $100 million mark. He has assessed and overseen remediation of small retaining wall failures to large multi-property urban landslips, including sites nationwide for the Earthquake Commission (EQC). He is an active member of the New Zealand Geotechnical Society with contacts across the country and a past winner of the New Zealand Geotechnical Society Young Geotechnical Professional Fellowship. He offers a balance of technical excellence with practical ability.

Rebekah is a qualified geotechnical engineer with 12 years’ experience working with one of New Zealand’s leading geotechnical companies. Rebekah’s experience includes landslips, earthworks, residential, commercial and large infrastructure. Rebekah has strengths in effective management and communications.
WORK AREA
We are based in Whangarei and primarily work throughout the Northland region, including Whangarei, Mangawhai, Waipu, Maungatauroto, Dargaville, Hokianga, Kerikeri, Bay of Island, Coopers Beach, Kaitaia, Russell, Opua, Ruakaka, One Tree Point and many other beautiful and scenic places in between.
We can provide services across New Zealand for locally based clients, either completing the work ourselves or connecting you to our nationwide industry contacts.
